Seiko SKX007 Vintage "ghosted" SKX007 mods take the classic Seiko SKX007 dive watch and age or patina the stock bezel, generally using a chemical process. For our NXTSKO Ghosted Seiko SKX007 Vintage build, we went with a blacked-out flat ceramic bezel insert that sticks closely enough to the traditional SKX bezel markings, but leaves only the major indices and elapsed time indicators.
The case and caseback are genuine Seiko SKX007 that we've refubished in our studio to give the watch a sharp twist on a vintage stainless steel case. It features a signed Seiko "S" screw down fitted with three gaskets for maximum water resistance (stock SKX crowns have just one gasket).
We went with a vintage OEM Seiko SKX dial, coffee-aged the markings, and gave it a gentle matte finish to complete the aged look. The chapter ring is also stock Seiko, with the indices lining up perfectly with the watch face — something that rarely happens in the stock Seiko world!
The sapphire crystal is flat (like popular Swiss submariners) with a blue anti-reflective coating for maximum readability in the harshest of light conditions.
The dial and hands are true to the SKX. The quick-set date function is visible at 3 o'clock, while the crown is comfortably positioned in the 3:45 position. We accented the watch with a brushed steel chapter ring for a clean and distinctive look.
The movement is a regulated Seiko NH36 which features hacking and hand-winding. These movements are known for their durability and can last decades without service (although we recommend a service every five years or so).
Like all our watches, this one comes with a supple Seiko OEM silicone Turtle band with polished and brushed hardware to complete the look. Dual-time watches are our specialty, and they sell out quickly. Feel free to email email@example.com or message us using the contact links below with any questions.
